FastSave is a mobile utility application developed by Photo and Video Applications. Formerly known as InstaSave, this free software allows you to save pictures and videos shared online. It does not only supports Instagram, but other social media and video sharing platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, Dailymotion, and Vimeo, as well.
FastSave can download your picture and video in three easy steps. It also saves your downloaded media on your local device storage. Besides social platforms, it also supports downloads from web pages. However, it does not always recognize pictures and videos from websites, so downloads might not be possible.
How do you use FastSave?
FastSave is a lightweight and easy-to-use application. Upon launching, the app will give you a short process walkthrough. After the tutorial, it will redirect you to a simple interface similar to a mobile web browser. From there, you can search for a website. You can also tap on the social media icons for easier access. To start the download, click the video or photo, and click the download button.
Unlike most photo downloaders, this app allows you to save multiple videos and pictures. With this, you can save an entire album at once. Not only that, but it will also give you the option to choose which photo to download from the album. As mentioned, it saves your downloaded media to your local storage. However, you can also browse them directly from the app.
Users should note that FastSave works like a web browser with a built-in media downloader. It does not integrate with your social media apps. As such, you will have to log in to your social media pages as if you are using a browser. Another thing to note is that while it lets you open websites, most of the time, the app cannot recognize media inside them.
Is the app good?
If you are looking to download photos and videos from social media sites, FastSave is a handy tool for you. The app supports most social platforms—excluding Youtube—so you can save media shared by your friends. The download process is also easy and takes little time. Note, however, that it does not integrate with its supported apps. You would have to use it as if you are using a browser.
